ELEMENTAL
RINGS

WEARABLE DESIGN PROJECT
In this design project, I was tasked with creating a collection of wearable art installations that related to something in my life.

The first steps I took to create this interactive collection involved brainstorming ideas of what I enjoy and how that could be used within a stylized piece.

PLANNING AND
IDEATION

STEP 1

CONCEPT
DEVELOPMENT

STEP 2
Based on the ideas I was able to come up with I chose the idea of championship rings with a twist. I enjoy Pokemon so I thought why not include them in some way. Once the initial sketches were completed I jumped right into Rhino to get on to the modeling phase

When modeling the rings I had to think about proportions and what they would actually look like on my hands. I also had to think about how sharp I wanted them to be around the finger.

MODELING

STEP 3

POST PROCESSING

STEP 4
Once I was able to get the rings printed from the fabrication lab via a resin 3D printer I was able to do some work to the ring in terms of finish. I decided on keeping all three of the rings the same color gold to really represent that championship aspect.

The end result is a collection of rings that are self representative of my own interests. A combination of competition and success.
